A Rabies-Free Tamilnadu where every animal is safe, every citizen is aware, and compassion drives public health and community well-being.
To protect public health and promote animal welfare by eliminating rabies through awareness, vaccination, and birth control; to rescue and rehabilitate animals in distress; and to build a compassionate, educated community that values the lives of all living beings.
We believe every life matters — animal or human — and strive to build a society rooted in kindness, empathy, and care for all beings.
We value coexistence and work to create neighborhoods where people and animals live together safely, peacefully, and respectfully.
We are committed to training, upskilling, and supporting animal feeders, rescuers, and volunteers — turning passion into sustained impact.
We believe in long-term, ecosystem-based solutions — from street-level care to city-wide public health — that protect lives and ensure a rabies-free future.
All of SOC-SHEED’s animal welfare initiatives are strengthened by strategic collaborations and active stakeholder engagement. Our core programs are implemented in partnership with key entities such as the Tamilnadu Animal Husbandry Department, Trichy Corporation, Tamilnadu Animal Welfare Board, and supportive civic organizations like the Rotary Club. These partnerships ensure that our efforts align with citywide and state-level health and safety frameworks, while also allowing us to access technical expertise, vaccine support, and policy guidance.
The sustainability of our work is rooted in local civic participation, CSR contributions, and the generous involvement of animal welfare volunteers in Trichy. These community champions help us amplify our campaigns, assist in rescue and rehabilitation efforts, and support ongoing education and advocacy across neighborhoods. We continue to nurture long-term relationships with corporate entities that are aligned with our mission, enabling impactful on-ground programs through their CSR support.
To maintain transparency and ensure continual improvement, robust Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) systems are in place across all our programs. We periodically track and analyze data related to dog bite cases, rabies outbreaks, and vaccination coverage.
Additionally, we collect and assess data on stray dog sterilization and conduct community awareness surveys to evaluate the reach and effectiveness of our education initiatives. These insights guide us in adapting strategies and scaling impact across the city.
